From woodfire grills and modern trattorias to soulful ramen and heritage dining, Singapore’s dining scene continues to push creative boundaries this October. In this edition of Just Opened, we explore nine new restaurants, cafés, and bars that have just opened in Singapore, each bringing fresh flavour, bold design, and cultural depth to the table. Whether you’re chasing smoky wagyu, Amalfi brunches, or quietly luxurious omakase in a national monument, these new openings remind us why Singapore remains one of Asia’s most exciting food cities. Ready your appetite? Here’s where to eat now:

Gochu

Step into the warm glow of fire and stone at Gochu, a Korean BBQ restaurant that brings the ‘true taste’ of Korea to Singapore’s tranquil Orchid Golf Club. Built around oakwood flames and a dramatic cave-like interior, Gochu reimagines Korean dining with signature dishes like Deep-Fried Chili Peppers with crispy green chilies stuffed with pork, tofu, and vegetables; and slow-braised Pork Ribs BBQ finished over a smokeless grill at your table. The menu celebrates the rustic charm of traditional market fare with premium execution, from rich Black Soybean Noodles to highball pairings like ginseng and bokbunja. Gochu is the fourth concept from the team behind Songgyeok and Drim, now turning their mastery to pork, fire, and storytelling through food.

Fortuna Terrazza

The team behind Singapore’s top-rated pizzeria has doubled down on Craig Road with Fortuna Terrazza, a sun-drenched Amalfi-inspired brunch café that marries Italian soul with Aussie café culture. From the #6 Cheese Toastie with six Italian cheeses to the spicy Folded Eggs alla Diavola and a standout Italian Fried Chicken (IFC 28), the menu is bold, indulgent, and unapologetically playful. Think ricotta hotcakes with coffee mascarpone or spritzes from the Bellini Bar with lemon foam and lychee syrup. The setting by EDG Design, is a Mediterranean reverie of tiled arches, lemon trees, and mosaic details. With no reservations and a granita trolley that rolls in at 3pm, this is Singapore’s new ode to dolce far niente.

Carnaby

Executive Chef Adam Penney brings elevated British comfort food to the Robertson Quay neighbourhood in a diner and music bar style no less! The 85-seater Carnaby is inspired by the eponymous Carnaby Street in London, so expect the restaurant’s ambience to be a celebration of retro British music and culture of the swinging 60s and rock ‘n roll. Naturally, the menu boasts British classics with Penney’s personal twists. Signature classics include the Roasted Rump of Angus Beef (S$42) with potatoes and Yorkshire pudding; the Carnaby Burger (S$29); Welsh Rarebit of Westcombe Cheddar (S$18) for classic cheese on toast; Steak & Guinness Pie (S$32) simmered in Irish Guinness Stout; and Smoky Fish Pie (S$30) made with Scottish smoked haddock and locally-farmed golden snapper. CODA

This plush yet minimalist cocktail lounge celebrates the purity of a cocktail experience, showcasing the diversity and rich heritage of Asian spirits by removing visible alcohol brands, letting drinks be judged on their own merit, rather than preconceived biases. In fact, what’s immediately striking at CODA is the glaring absence of the usual display bar brimming with infinite liquor bottles. Led by industry veteran and owner Michel Lu (founder of The Orientalist Spirits and the creator of BARSTARS) and General Manager Treyna Zhang (former brand ambassador for The Orientalist Spirits), the bottle-rested creations are meticulously aged to showcase the timeless flavours of baijiu, sake, shochu, soju, arak, and beyond, with regional ingredients seamlessly woven into the concoctions. They have 16 signature tipples featured across four sections, each themed after a different mood. For instance, the vodka-based Bamboo boasts bamboo leaf, fenjiu, Shaoxing rice wine and osmanthus.

Say hello to the newest and hottest bar in town. Here, cocktails are more than just mere drinks, combining storytelling with traditions and culture. This plush yet minimalist cocktail lounge celebrates the purity of a cocktail experience, showcasing the diversity and rich heritage of Asian spirits by removing visible alcohol brands, letting drinks be judged on their own merit, rather than any preconceived bias.

Led by industry veteran and owner Michel Lu (founder of The Orientalist Spirits and the creator of BARSTARS) and General Manager Treyna Zhang, CODA’s offerings are as nuanced as they are imaginative. The menu is now split into two distinct categories: CODA Classics, featuring reinterpretations of familiar favourites, and CODA Signatures, showcasing bold new creations that push boundaries. While the bar takes pride in celebrating Asian heritage spirits like baijiu, sake, shochu, soju, and arak; often aged and infused with regional ingredients, you’ll still find the full spectrum of global classics, from vodka and gin to whisky and rum, ensuring there’s something for every palate. Among the 16 cocktails across both sections is Bamboo, a signature creation layered with vodka, bamboo leaf, fenjiu, Shaoxing rice wine, and osmanthus.

Living well never goes out of style at Atlas, and this grand Art Deco bar’s latest  cocktail menu, Gazette du Bon Ton, adds to that glamorous celebration of life, style, the golden era of cocktails and timeless good taste, capturing the creative spirit of the 1920s to 1940s. Highlights include Miss Rouge (S$19), a sophisticated no-alcohol creation blending spiced spirit, verjus and basil tea, a tribute to the era’s bold new approach to beauty and self-expression; The Streamliner (S$26), a clarified milk punch with pisco, fino sherry, green tea, almond, and honey, nods to the elegance of transatlantic voyages aboard 1920s ocean liners; Let’s Misbehave (S$25) inspired by the cheeky Cole Porter anthem, combines American gin, sloe gin, bitter bianco, spiced liqueur, and honey in a bold, jazzy blend garnished with a torched cocktail onion; while Midnight in Ruins (S$27) offers a moody mix of rye whiskey, cherry-infused port, Italian bitter liqueur, and grappa, for drama and depth.

There’s no mistaking it. Oktoberfest 2025 is in full swing, and Singapore is raising its steins high. From sprawling beer halls to cosy taverns, the island is buzzing with Bavarian energy: think pork knuckle platters, frothy Festbiers, oompah beats, and the kind of conviviality that Munich built a reputation on. This year, the celebrations stretch across breweries, hotels, and even city streets, each with its own twist on the world’s most famous beer festival. Whether you’re after an all-you-can-eat Bavarian buffet, a neighbourhood block party, or a night of stein-hoisting in lederhosen, here’s where to celebrate Oktoberfest 2025 in Singapore.

Few backdrops scream Singapore quite like Lau Pa Sat, and this Oktoberfest, it’s turning into a Bavarian block party every Friday night. From 26 September to 17 October, ERDINGER takes over the historic food hall with stein-holding competitions every hour, live dancers in lederhosen and dirndls, and a personalised beer-label station where your face gets printed onto a bottle, the ultimate keepsake. Between rounds, sip on freshly poured ERDINGER Weissbier and bag exclusive festival merch to remember the night. And if you’d rather prost from home or the office, ERDINGER has teamed up with The Plattering Co. to deliver hearty Oktoberfest platters (from S$198 for seven) or even a full “Oktober Table” buffet spread for twenty. Whether under Lau Pa Sat’s lights or at your own table, it’s a celebration worth raising a stein to.
